Chess Summer Camps are the perfect way to introduce the game of chess to new students, deepen understanding of the game for established players, or offer intensive instruction for aspiring chess masters. Grandmaster instructors provide daily lessons, puzzles, and play to help guide students through each session.
Instruction offers a solid basic foundation, emphasizing the fundamental skills needed to begin a lifetime of learning in chess.
Each camp provides opportunities to practice these skills in a variety of activities and workshops with classmates under the observation of a Grandmaster and experienced chess instructors from the Saint Louis Chess Club. Camps are offered at SLU, the Saint Louis Chess Club and Little Flower School.
The Magic House offers special morning hours for families with young children Tuesday through Friday during the school year. Select exhibits open at 10:30 a.m. before the entire museum opens at noon. Preschool Hours feature exhibits that are geared toward children ages 2-8, but anyone is welcome to visit.
Kids and teens ages 6-15 can practice and explore a variety of obstacles, fine tune their skills on a single obstacle, or practice running the customizable courses at Ultimate Ninjas Open Play. Registration is recommended.
