Visit the Animal Protective Association (APA) of Missouri for a free story time for preschoolers and help foster their love of animals. Kids will learn about caring for our four-legged friends as well as be entertained by fun stories and make a craft. They'll even meet a furry friend! Geared to ages 2-5.
Sensory Friendly Storytime at the APA includes storytime and pet interaction for the littlest learners with accommodations for children who thrive in a calm setting.
The Canine Carnival features lots of activities for kids, dog-related carnival games, live music, lots of prizes, adoptable pets, raffles, exhibitor booths, live music, food trucks and more.
Pre-show puppy playtime with the APA of Missouri begins at 1 p.m., and the story time begins at 2 p.m.
Kids ages 4-14 will learn the proper way to greet dogs and cats to avoid bites and scratches. There will even be a dog at the class to allow the kids to practice. Presented by the APA of Missouri.

See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
Young visitors and their families are invited to the Energy Stage to enjoy interactive read-alouds of science-themed picture books. Story times are followed by a short demonstration or discussion connected to the book's main concepts.
Explore the Saint Louis Zoo in the evenings at the new Animals Aglow exhibit. Bring your family to experience the luminous glow of 50 towering lanterns depicting animals, plants and traditional Chinese elements. Don't miss this celebration of culture and art!
