A few months ago many kinds of animals were enjoying the abundance of a Missouri summer. Now things have changed. The weather is cold. There may be snow and ice. Now there are no green plants or tasty insects for animals to eat. What does our wildlife do in winter?
Some animals migrate away, but what about all the others who stay here? We consider eight different strategies wild animals can use for weathering winter, and illustrate them with activities and crafts. We will go on a winter walk, too, so please dress for the weather.
For ages 5 and up. 9:30 to 11 a.m. Free.
At Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center near the intersection of I-44 and I-270. Call 314-301-1500 for reservations.
