The Humane Society of Missouri's Longmeadow Rescue Ranch is hosting its annual Fall Fling with fun, free activities for all ages. Your kids can enjoy wagon rides, tours of the 165-acre ranch which rehabilitates hundreds of abused and neglected horses, cows, goats, pigs, ducks and other farm animals, and learn about the Ranch's Barn Buddies program.
You're welcome to bring a picnic, although please don't bring your own pets to the ranch. There will be food and drinks for sale.
Admission is $20 per car. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Longmeadown Rescue Ranch in Union, MO.

The Spring Fishing Derby at Watson Trail Park is free and open to the general public and kids of all ages. Participants can compete for trophies for the smallest, largest and most fish caught.
See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
The Saint Louis Science Center has expanded its Preschool Science Series to include new offerings for different age groups of young scientists. Storybook STEM is for ages 3 to 5.
