Kick off your summer with a party celebrating reading! The St. Louis County Library will hold Summer Reading Club Kick-Off parties at four branches. These free celebrations include face painting, shaved ice, a climbing wall and lots more for all ages. Summer Reading Club Kick-Off Parties will be held:
May 29: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Florissant Valley Branch
May 30: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Grand Glaize Branch
May 31: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Grant's View Branch
June 1: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Headquarters Branch
Reservations are not needed except for large groups. Bring the whole family to sign up for the Summer Reading Club.

The Spring Fishing Derby at Watson Trail Park is free and open to the general public and kids of all ages. Participants can compete for trophies for the smallest, largest and most fish caught.
See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
The Saint Louis Science Center has expanded its Preschool Science Series to include new offerings for different age groups of young scientists. Storybook STEM is for ages 3 to 5.
