
Want to start your kids learning the basics of cooking or inspire budding chefs? The Schnucks Cooks Cooking School, located on the mezzanine level of the flagship Des Peres store, is presenting a special cooking class this Saturday from for kids ages 5-8 called “The Rookie Chef: Kids in the Kitchen.”
The class, led by instructor Chef Lucy Schnuck will teach kids the basics while helping them prepare a perfect meal of spaghetti and meatballs, Italian salad, cheese garlic bread and chocolate chip cookies. Lucy Schnuck graduated at the top of her class at the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park and has trained in fine restaurants across the country, including Luciano's and Annie Gunn's in St. Louis.
The class runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and costs $35 per student. Limited slots are available so register in advance by visiting www.schnuckscooks.com/school_information.asp.

See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
Storytelling in the Museum is an in-person storytelling event happening at 10:30 a.m. at the Missouri History Museum. This event, perfect for the preschool set, features engaging stories with themes like Juneteenth, Sweet Treats, Summer and more. Storytelling in the Museum is free.
