Weekend Egg Hunts Abound Across St. Louis March 19-20

If you're looking to spend some quality time with the Easter Bunny, take your kids on some egg-cellent egg-hunting adventures, or just have some family fun in the spring-like weather, you've got a whole lot of options to choose from across the St. Louis area this weekend. Grab your baskets and let's get hopping! Here's where you'll find the fun:

Saturday, March 19

Hop to the Meadows Easter Event and Egg Hunt

Children ages 10 and under can participate in a free community egg hunt at The Meadows Shopping Center in Lake St. Louis. Hop to the Meadows – which takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – features a wide variety of family-friendly fun, including bounce houses, pony rides, a balloon artist and lots of games and activities. Springtime Village at Purina Farms

Celebrate all things spring at Purina Farms' Springtime Village. From a petting area with bunnies, piglets and chicks to photos with Peter Cottontail, there’s something for everyone. Plus, it’s free! Make reservations for Springtime Village by calling (314) 982-3232. 

Youth Activity Park Easter Egg Hunt (Including an Egg Hunt for Special Needs Children)

At the Youth Activity Park in Dardenne Prairie from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., kids 12 and under can hunt for more than 4,00 candy-filled eggs, hidden throughout the park’s 25-acre facility. The Youth Activity Park Easter Egg Hunt features a visit from both the Easter Bunny and Ronald McDonald, as well as face painting, games, activities and more.

From 1 to 3 p.m., there will also be a brand new, one-of-a-kind Egg Hunt for Special Needs Children. This hunt will be divided into three categories: one for children with sensory impairments, one for children with mobility impairments and one with specially designed beeping eggs for children with visual impairments. Pre-registration is required for both events. Eggstravaganza at MOBOT (Member Event)

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., families can engage with the wonders of spring at the Missouri Botanical Garden’s Eggstravaganza. Be sure to bring your baskets, because egg hunts will take place every 30 minutes between 10 a.m. and noon, and there will be snacks, spring blooms, live rabbits, photos with Hopsy (the Garden’s beloved rabbit character) and plenty of opportunities for outdoor play. Cost is based on membership level. Breakfast with the Bunny and Egg Hunt at the West County Family YMCA

At the West County YMCA’s Breakfast with the Bunny and Egg Hunt at 9 a.m., kids can visit with the Easter Bunny while the entire family enjoys a hot breakfast. Bring your own baskets for the egg hunt, and get ready for crafts, face painting and field games too. Cost is $5/person; free for children under 2. Get more information and register: www.gwrymca.org

Equine-Assisted Therapy Easter Egg Hunt

Equine Assisted Therapy’s Annual Egg Hunt takes place at Longview Farm Park in Town and Country. Registration opens at 11 a.m., with the hunt beginning promptly at noon. Kids ages 2-12 can enjoy a unique egg hunting experience where they gather eggs, and then get to “sell” them in order to buy games, toys, books and more from a General Store. Pre-registration is not required. Cost is $10/hunter, with 100% of the money going to Equine-assisted Therapy.  

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny in St. Charles

The Easter Bunny stops at Wapelhorst Park in St. Charles for the day. Enjoy a hot breakfast in the pavilion near the playground, do holiday crafts, go on an egg hunt and get photos taken with the Easter Bunny himself. Cost is $10/person, and you can register online.

Bunny Hop at Shaw Park

The annual Bunny Hop at Shaw Park in Clayton is for kids ages 1-8, features a petting zoo, crafts, plenty of eggs to gather, and of course, photos with Mr. Bunny. The egg hunt begins at 10:30 a.m. sharp, but you’ll want to arrive by 10 a.m. Call the Center of Clayton at (314) 290-8500 to purchase advance tickets. 

Get ready for egg hunting with at this event for all ages at Rotary Park in Wentzville. Put on your speed-enhancing bunny ears and tie up your laces for two family fun events: Easter Eggstravaganza egg hunt for kids, which includes face painting, a visit with the Easter Bunny, a chocolate bunny for all participants and costume contest. Registration is required. Wildwood Spring Egg Hunt

This free hunt starts at 10 a.m. at Fairway Elementary School. The hunt will be split into three age groups, 3 years and under, 4-6 years old and 7-11 years old. Bring your own baskets. There will also be bounce houses, a giant bunny, balloon artists, popcorn, hot dogs and Juggling Jeff! No reservations are required. More information: wildwoodmo.com

Pizza with the Easter Bunny

Enjoy a special treat with the Easter Bunny himself - pizza! Kids can have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny and enjoy a slice of pizza and a special treat before they leave. This event is free. Noon to 2 p.m. at Whole Foods Town and Country. More information: wholefoodsmarket.com

Bunny Breakfast at The Magic House

Follow the bunny trail to The Magic House and get your morning hopping at the museum's Bunny Breakfast. The special guest will be, you guessed it, the Easter Bunny himself! Every-bunny will have a great time as they enjoy a delicious breakfast, participate in a fun, hands-on activity, play in the museum and have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. 9 to 11 a.m. at The Magic House. WILD Family Fun Days GPS Egg Hunt

This is no ordinary Easter egg hunt! At the WILD Family Fun Days GPS Egg Hunt in Babler Memorial State Park, kids and adults can put their GPS skills to the test. Eggs will be hidden on trails, in fields, under pavilions and other places around the park, and participants will use a GPS device (either bring your own and you’ll be given the coordinates or sign up for one that’s pre-loaded with egg locations) to track them down. Cost is $15 per adult/child pair and $3 per additional family member.  More information and to register: www.prcommunityed.org

Breakfast with the Bunny and Easter Egg-citement at Eckert’s

Families can always find fun at Eckert’s, and the Easter season is no exception. Enjoy a hearty family-style meal at the Belleville Country Restaurant at Breakfast with the Bunny, and stay for egg hunts, face painting, baby chicks and more at Easter Egg-citement. Advance registration is not required.  View the Eckert’s Events Calendar for more information.
