The long-awaited opening of the St. Louis Wheel at Union Station is here! Families are invited to ride St. Louis' newest attraction on its first day of official operation.

Through story and song, the play shines a light on their dreams, their times with family and friends, and the trials and tribulations they faced as children living in a divided and segregationist city. A full chorus sets the tone with spirituals and anthems of the Civil Rights Movement such as "Amazing Grace," "Oh, Freedom," and "Woke Up This Morning." This production is a collaboration between The Black Rep and COCA.

Join Opera Theatre of St. Louis for a fun, casual and engaging afternoon of opera tailored toward young people with sensory processing sensitivities. 

Meet at the West Entrance Plaza at the Gateway Arch for Ghosts of the Arch Grounds. Visitors will learn about the various incarnations of the Arch Grounds as they evolved from French fur trading post to warehouse district to the present Gateway Arch National Park. Experience the ups and downs of historical figures like Pierre Laclede, Thomas Targee, James Eads and Percy Green.

Enjoy free crafts, kids' activities and snacks, and wear your costumes. 

Activities are designed to be simple enough for ages 4 and up to enjoy, yet complex enough that more experienced young artists can take their projects to another level.

Family Day Oktoberfest includes performances by Circus Flora and Metro Theater Company, magical activities provided by The Magic House, dog-friendly fun with pet-related activities for kids from Purina, a children's tent with cookie decorating, a petting zoo, arts & crafts, live music, coloring, lawn games for the whole family, and lots more.
