Wall Ball

Artscope presents Wall Ball 2018, a live art extravaganza highlighting top St. Louis artists. One of St. Louis' most unique art events, Wall Ball guests witness artwork created live while enjoying a dazzling paty. Guest interact with the artists at work, and bid on the chance to take home their favorite artwork. 

Wall Ball proceeds benefit Artscope, a non-profit arts organization in Tower Grove Park, whose mission is to "create the community leaders and entrepreneurs of the future through a focus on creativity, diversity, ecology, cooperation and play."

Artscope was founded in 2002 and formerly known as the South City Open Studio and Gallery (SCOSAG). It is a nonprofit organization located within Tower Grove Park that focuses on children's creativity. Artscope's mission is centered around developing creative problem solving skills in young people through providing a safe and educational environment for children to explore art and to strengthen the ties within the St. Louis community.

Wall Ball is set for Feb. 24, 7 to 11 p.m. at at the Third Degree Glass Factory in University City.

Art Workshop for Kids, Teens and Families at Artscope

New for 2018! Kids, teens and families can dig a little deeper into specific art media at Artscope workshops. Artscope is now offering workshops for elementary age kids and teens, as well as one for the whole family. Workshops focus on origami, printmaking, puppetry, eco + art, 3D design, fashion, sculpture, anime, painting and more. Registration is required. Scheduled workshops include:

February 11: Printmaking Explosion for ages 5-11.

February 18: Shadow Puppet Spectacular for ages 5-11.

March 11: Origami Master Fold for ages 10 and up.

March 18: Origami Playset: Swam Paradise. Family workshop for ages 7 and up.

Cost is $20 per child, except for the March 18 family workshop, which is $15 - $30 per person. All workshops are held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Artscope's headquarters in Tower Grove Park.

Northern Lights Camp

School Daze Camps at Artscope are a great way for kids to spend their days when school is out. Kids will make fabulous art projects, explore Tower Grove Park, play games, sing songs and make new friends. 

 

Camps are for kids ages 5 to 11. Each camp has a different theme. At Northern Lights Camp, kids will explore one of the world's most mysterious phenomenon through light inspired artwork, then try out a very special camera.

 

Camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with before and after-care available beginning at 7:30 a.m. through 6 p.m. Cost for camp is $40 with additional for before or after-care.

Picnic in the Park - Tower Grove

The Friends of Tower Grove Park are throwing a Picnic in the Park open to all. There will be activities for all ages, including a food trucks, a petting zoo, bubble bus, arts and crafts from Artscope, face painters, live music and more.

The Picnic in the Park is free.

Artscope Open House

Take a look at the all the programs offered at Artscope at its annual Open House in the Cozy Cottage Castle. Artscope offers summer camps, after school programs and fantastically fun art activities for kids. You'll enjoy art activities, live music by Fire Dog and get to know the Camp:Create counselors. Light refreshments will be provided.

Planet You Camp

What would you do if you were in charge of your own planet? Who would live there? What would the flag look like? Kids will answer these and more otherworldly questions at this camp. 

This one-day camp is part of the School Daze series of camps at Artscope.

Heroism Camp

What do Thor, Hercules, Wonder Woman and Artemis have in common? They are all heroes! At this camp, kids will learn about heroes and heroines throughout history as they plot their own epic adventures. This one-day camp is part of the School Daze series of camps at Artscope.

Comic Con Camp at Artscope

Kids can get in on the Bam! Pow! action at this super camp! They'll flex their craft muscles and create alter egos to save the world! This one-day camp is part of the School Daze series of camps at Artscope.

Benton Park 150th Anniversary Festival

Enjoy a wide variety of live music, make-and-take art project for kids provided by Artscope, food, and fun at this community festival celebrating 150 years of the Benton Park neighborhood.

The festival begins at 11 a.m. with a full schedule of local bands at the Benton Park Pavilllion and Lagoon at the corner of Jefferson and Arsenal.
