Bring the whole family for a free concert in the center of the Zoo! Jungle Boogie concerts are held most Fridays from late May to August from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and feature some of the St. Louis area's most popular local bands.
There will also be animal-related kids activities that focus on conservation of endangered species through the Zoo's Wildcare Institute. Snack and dinner options, as well as wine, beer and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Feel free to bring lawn chairs for seating.
Admission to the zoo and the concert is free. More information and a schedule of performers: stlzoo.org
Bring your kids and your dog to the Purina Farms Trunk or Treat! In addition to plenty of treats for your two-legged and four-legged little ones, there will be face painting, games, balloon animals and a family entertainment area. Advance tickets are required.
It's the Not-So-Haunted House that is oh-so-fun! Kids of all ages are invited to dress in their most "boo-tiful" Halloween costumes and have a ghoulishly good time trick-or-treating at The Magic House and getting autographs from their favorite storybook characters.
Artscope offers a variety of creative opportunities on Sunday afternoons, mostly for kids in Kindergarten and up, but some are for adults too! Sunday Fundays are focused on culture, ecology and artistic skill-building, and there is a different activity each week.
