Swap-o-Rama-Rama

Swap-O-Rama-Rama, a community clothing swap and DIY upcycling event is back at the Missouri History Museum.

Bring at least one bag of your unwanted (but clean) clothing to contribute, then dive in and find some new-to-you treasures. Take them home or head to the sewing room where volunteers will help you alter or transform your new items. In honor of the museum's Little Black Dress exhibit, there will be a special LBD rack.

The Swap-O-Rama-Rama starts at noon.

Family Fun Day at the Foundry Art Centre

Bring your whole family to the  Foundry Art Centre's Family Fun Day on May 22 for an afternoon of fun and creativity.

Summer-themed art activities will be available designed for kids to make alongside their parents. Throughout the afternoon, you'll enjoy stories read aloud by Main Street Books owner Emily Hall. There will also be complimentary lemonade and cookies.

National Junior Ranger Day at the Old Courthouse

Come to the Old Courthouse for Junior Ranger Day and Night Explorer Workshop conducted by a sky ranger with the National Park Service. Kids can earn a special, limited-edition Junior Ranger badge commemorating the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service by completing a craft project relating to American pioneers, Plains Indians, Colonial St. Louis or Lewis & Clark. This special badge workshop will be held between at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

A special Junior Ranger Night Explorer Workshop, where kids can earn a Night Explorer Badge, will be held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Play & Ride at the St. Louis Carousel in Faust Park

Safe Kids Day Festival

Visit the West County Safety House during the Safe Kids Day Festival for free bike fittings (and helmets while supplies last) and let your kids take ride to Safety Town. 

The festival also includes free food, games and prizes, and a raffle of dinner with the West County EMS and Fire crew.

Three decades after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, a new threat arises. The first order attempts to rule the galaxy and only a ragtag group of heroes can stop them with the help of the resistance. Enjoy this free showing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the West County Family YMCA in Chesterfield on Friday, April 8.

Admission is free, popcorn will be available for $1. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the movie begins at 7.

Time In: An Alternative to Time Out

Family Fun and Fitness Day

Bring your whole family to the Family Fun and Fitness Day where you'll find activities for all ages and lots of fun for kids.

All ages can get active with a bounce house, fitness and dance groups, martial arts demonstrations and self-defense demonstrations. There will also be face painting, door prizes, food and drinks, birthday party ideas, raffles and a smoothie truck!

Free Helmet Safety Check

Have your child's bicycle helmet professionally checked for fit and safety at this free event. Pre-registration is required.

Trained professionals from St. Louis Children's Hospital will check for a correct fit for your child and make sure that the helmet is approved for current standards at no charge. If your child needs a different helmet or does not have a helmet, approved helmets will be available for $11. Parents and children will be taught how to put a helmet on correctly so they can continue this important safety practice at home.

Free Swim and Gym Night at the Lodge

Families are invited to enjoy everything The Lodge has to offer, including the indoor wave pool, tot pool. slide and gymnasium for free at this free family night. 

Dinner and snacks will be available in the cafe. For all ages. Please bring tennis shoes if you'd like to play in the gym. Access to the fitness center is not included. Reservations are not required, but space will be limited if capacity is reached.
