Kids can spend their Winter Break at the Saint Louis Zoo observing and learning about animals and the different shapes and sizes animal homes and habitats come in. During Maryville University's Winter Break STEM Program, kids ages 4-12 can enjoy STEM fun! They'll complete different kinds of LEGO builds, STEM winter projects, games and more. Morning and afternoon sessions are available December 27-29 at the STEM Studio in Chesterfield. Morning sessions are held from 9 a.m. to noon. Afternoon sessions are 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per session. Students who sign up for both a morning and afternoon session will receive a $20 credit toward any future STEM Studio class!

While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
Young visitors and their families are invited to the Energy Stage to enjoy interactive read-alouds of science-themed picture books. Story times are followed by a short demonstration or discussion connected to the book's main concepts.
