
Want to get some holiday shopping done? Drop off the kids for a winter wonderland afternoon at the Kirkwood Community Center.
The Greater St. Louis Metro Area Train Show features an entire gymnasium full of hundreds of feet of operating train layouts and another gymnasium full of train sets and Thomas Trains for sale by dealers from across the country.
Kids can get up close to a large "garden railroad" featuring trains running on the gymnasium floor. There will also be a large operating layout made entirely of LEGOS, a Thomas the Tank model train, and dozens of detailed scenes including a lock and dam and automobile plant.
Kids can take a break from the cold and enjoy a movie on the big screen. There will be pizza, lemonade and snacks before they sit down to watch Big Hero 6. For ages 7-13. Registration is required.
$10 per child for Kirkwood residents and $12 per child for non-residents. At the Kirkwood Community Center.

See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
Immerse yourself in a vibrant sea of sunflowers at Eckerts Sunflower Festival. There will be a variety of activities for all ages, like mini photo sessions, face painting, local vendors, a coffee truck, and of course, wandering through the beautiful 2-acre sunflower fields.
Sensory Friendly Science Time features reduced noise, modified lighting and sensory-friendly demonstrations at the Saint Louis Science Center.
