Local historian and author Elizabeth Pickard will share her new children's book, Ruth's River Dreams, and talk about her experience writing it at this virtual program through the Missouri History Museum. 

Twilight Tuesday Concerts from the Missouri History Museum are virtual this fall! Your family can tune in on Tuesday evenings from the comfort of your home or backyard for an online concert streamed live on Zoom or Facebook Live. The theme of this fall's concert series is music of the Mighty Mississippi. 

Support your early reader's developing skills through a read-aloud of "Nino Wrestles the World" by Yuyi Morales and an activity. This online book club is for ages 5-8.

When life gives you lemons, have a parade! Manchester, Missouri will hold an evening Homecoming Parade on Sept. 12 and all are welcome. The Theme is "When Life Gives You Lemons." The parade kicks off at approximately 7 p.m. at Schroeder Park and will proceed through Manchester. 

Enjoy a movie at the Robert G. Reim Theatre in Kirkwood. Seating will be limited to 25% capacity to ensure proper social distancing. 

Visit Play Street Museum's newest attraction – the Pop-Up Art Studio! In the studio, kids can focus on process art, which allows children to develop their own creations. Process art is more about the creation, imagination, and development rather than the final art projects. 

Enjoy the Saint Louis Zoo online! Zoom with Saint Louis Zoo educators is a live, free presentation that allows families to learn more about animals and how amazing they are. Themes vary, and registration in advance is required. After registering, you'll receive a confirmation email letting you know how to join.

Animal rescue doesn't stop in the face of a global pandemic, and the Metro East Humane Society (MEHS) is offering a way for families to have fun and support animals in need at the same time. Camp MEHS on September 5 will feature a take home "camp" kit for families, including t-shirts and bandanas to tie dye, crafts, s'mores kits, Chef's Shoppe popcorn, Annie's Bow Wow Cups, smoothies from Source Juicery, Four Muddy Paws goodies for your four-legged friends, beverages for adults and kids, and more.

Kids can learn how to play it safe starting September 12 when Kirkwood Safety Town returns to The Magic House. Co-created by The Magic House and the City of Kirkwood, this interactive exhibit is designed to educate the region's youngest residents about safety. Kirkwood Safety Town features a child-sized neighborhood including a fire station, police station, electric company, farmers market, park, house, and even a train station!

Purina Farms is bringing the best of the farm to your home every week! You can virtually explore Purina Farms through videos featuring the animals, dog trainers and others who work there, as well as the pets who work and play at Purina Farms every day. Each day of the week features videos on a variety of topics including animal connections, training tips and responsible pet care advice for kids. 

Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunting game using either a GPS-enabled device or the official Geocache app. Use either to navigate your way to a cache, read the clues and search for it. A local geocaching enthusiast will be in Schroeder Park to teach families about this activity which is especially good while social distancing!

It's movie night at Purina Farms - drive-in style! Enjoy a showing of "Babe" outside on a jumbo screen. Audio will be transmitted to an FM radio station so you can hang out in or nearby the safety of your vehicle. Pre-show entertainment will be provided by the Purina Incredible Dog Team and others! Advance registration is required.

Kids can help end cancer by registering for the Pedal the Cause Kids Challenge. Registration fee is only $10 and includes a Kids Challenge t-shirt. Kids Challenge participants can set a goal to compete a physical challenge (riding their bikes, running, walking or another activity) on their own the weekend of September 26-27.

Join in on Gateway to the Stars for some virtual stargazing and to learn about lunar exploration from members of the St. Louis Astronomical Society. 

It's time for a date night!  Adults age 21 and up are invited to spend an exclusive, limited-attendance evening among the animals at the Saint Louis Zoo. Night at the Zoo guests will receive a free animal-themed mask, special discounts at food outlets and gift shops, complimentary drink tickets, and get to enjoy their favorite zoo exhibits. 

Calling all super heroes! Kids are invited to meet their favorite super heroes and learn how wearing masks can make them super heroes for their communities too! The Magic House and The Magic House - MADE for Kids will welcome Spiderman, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Black Panther, Shuri, and more. Families are invited to make reservations at either location to attend, explore, and meet the super heroes. Kids can also decorate their own masks on site.

At this Youth Activism Workshop, sponsored by the Missouri Historical Society's African American History Initiative, kids will explore the broader context of the Civil Rights movement through a variety of primary sources and evaluate how activists communicate their messages through images and words. Then they will identify and explain issues they care about by creating a poster that advocates for their views.

Bring your family to Oak Tree Park in Brentwood for an afternoon filled with water games and activities. There will be a frozen tee shirt contest for the first 10 people who register, water balloon throwing contest, crazy water games and many other fun activities for all ages.
