The Saint Louis Science Center is one of three science centers nationwide selected by Disney Junior and XPRIZE to launch Miles from Tomorrowland: Space Missions, a nationwide STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) program for children ages 2-8.
Miles from Tomorrowland: Space Missions invites children and their families to develop their own out-of-this-world creations for the chance to win prizes, including a trip to Cape Canaveral to experience space exploration first hand. The program is inspired by Disney Junior's animated show Miles From Tomorrowland, 2015's #1 series across preschool networks in total viewers, and is designed to lay the building blocks for learning in critical STEAM-based areas.
From July 20 to August 31, children and families can complete activities in the Science Center's Discovery Room. Families are responsible for photographing and submitting their own creations to Disney Junior to become eligible to win prizes.
The program launches at the Science Center on July 20 with a free screening of three episodes of Miles from Tomorrowland in the OMNIMAX Theater at 11 a.m. During the six weeks of the program, Miles from Tomorrowland episodes will be shown daily at CenterStage on the lower level of the Science Center.
