Celebrate the 49th Anniversary of the Moon Landing during Apollo 11 Week at the Saint Louis Science Center. This multi-day celebration features rocket launches, space-themed demos, brain teasers, gravity suitcases and the Destination Moon: Apollo 11 Mission space exhibition.

Ongoing activities throughout the week include:

  • Kids can make craters and learn how impact craters have shaped the history of the Moon
  • Explore the phenomena of Earth's magnetic field
  • Make your own paper mountain
  • Cool off with Apollo 11 ice cream
  • Learn how astronauts eat in space with a fun visit to the Moon Cafe
  • Learn how space travel impacts an astronaut's bones and discover more about your skeleton
  • Build your own model rover
  • Visit the newly renovated Mission: Mars gallery
  • Enjoy after-hours fun in the GROW Gallery including live music and free space-themed movies
  • Enjoy a special Science Goes Splat for Splash Down Day on July 24

Sea Lion Shows at the Saint Louis Zoo

See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
