If the adventure and magic of Moana and Encanto delighted you, don’t wait to make plans to see Spells of the Sea, the newest production from Metro Theater Company! In this world-premiere musical for the whole family, you'll see why sometimes trusting in yourself is the greatest act of courage.
Finley Frankfurter is a 15-year-old fisherwoman who is terrible at fishing. H.S. Crank is a grumpy old lighthouse keeper who has been sitting for 20 years in the dark. Together, this unlikely pair begins an adventure through the ocean to find the Elixir of Life, an elusive remedy that will save Finley’s father from a mysterious illness. On their journey, the pair encounter mermaids and pirates, whirlpools and their worst fears, and finally a new understanding of the meaning of family, friendship, and trust in yourself.
Spells of the Sea is best for 8 year olds, 18 year olds, and 80 year olds — and everyone in between! Approximate run time is 70 minutes with no intermission.
Live at the Grandel Theatre February 10 - March 5, 2023. Virtual streaming is available February 16 - March 5.
- Shows are Fridays at 7 p.m.
- Saturdays at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., (socially distant performance every Saturday at 4 p.m.)
- Sundays at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices range from $20 - $36, which includes all ticket fees.
Pay-what-you-wish in-person performances are Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 11 at 1 and 4 p.m.
Pay-what-you-wish virtual streaming performances are Feb. 16-18.
