The words "mosh pit" usually don't conjure up visions of toddlers and preschoolers doing their own unique dances
and movements to the delight of their parents (and just about anyone else watching). But this is a kiddie mosh pit we're talking about, and it forms at nearly every performance of Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players.
Getting the littlest audience members on their feet is the band's specialty. Their live music takes listeners through iconic scenes of childhood, from the joys of trick or treating to the magic stillness of snow days. Not that the little rockers in front of the stage care much about the blast from the past their parents are experiencing. They just wanna dance.
Roberts and his band are currently touring to support their latest CD, Jungle Gym and will make a stop in St. Louis on January 8. The Grammy nominated group's music has been called "on-your-feet fun and laugh-out loud funny," and has won five Parents Choice Gold Awards, five National Parenting Publications Gold Awards, among others, and has ranked as one of Amazon.com's Top 10 Children's CDs for four years.
You can experience Roberts live in St. Louis on Saturday, January 8 at 3 p.m. at Off Broadway on Lemp Avenue. The performance is sponsored by the KDHX Musical Merry-Go-Round (which is a great way for you and the kids to rock out at home on Saturday mornings), and we've got four tickets to give away to one reader. To win, head on over to our Facebook page and leave a comment. We'll choose one comment randomly on Tuesday, January 4 and notify the winner via Facebook that same day. For more details about the show, see our calendar listing here.
It will be worth skipping naptime for.
