Above and Beyond Opens at the Saint Louis Science Center

Celebrate aerospace technology at the new, highly interactive special exhibition at the Saint Louis Science Center: Above and Beyond. This special exhibition will immerse you in flight and space travel, with simulations that allow visitors to design and test-fly a supersonic jet, experience flight as a bird, and ride in a space elevator. 

Above and Beyond takes you faster, farther and higher for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It's produced by Evergreen Exhibitions in association with Boeing, in collaboration with NASA and the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum.

All In for KDHX Benefit Concert

The School of Rock St. Louis is showing their support for independent radio station KDHX with a benefit concert on Feb. 28 at The Stage. The concert will showcase the audition-only house bands from the Kirkwood and Ballwin locations of the School of Rock, made up of hard-working, talented students under the age of 18.

KDHX is an independent, non-commercial, listener-supported community radio station that offers a range of music along with cultural programming. KDHX plays local, regional, national and international music and supports St. Louis' thriving arts scene in many ways.

Puppets Workshop at The Magic House

Give a hand to puppeteer Daniel Romano and his Blaque Berry Puppets as he brings his puppets to life during workshops and performances at The Magic House.

Romano is a puppeteer, storyteller, teacher and folklorist. His Blaque Berry Puppet Theater performs original stories as well as African, Irish and frontier tales at schools, libraries, fairs and festivals across the St. Louis region. Romano is on the artists' roster for Springboard, a St. Louis-based art education agency.

Metalworking Workshop at The Magic House

Kids can sharpen their knowledge of metalworking with Andrew Andrasko of Dras Fabrication + Design. They'll watch as Andrasko demonstrates the art of creating forged and fabricated metalwork.

Andrasko specializes in abstract forged and fabricated works of art ranging from sculptural to functional pieces for both public and private collections. Dras Fabrication + Design creates custom works employing a wide variety of metals as well as wood, glass and stone. 

Saturday, Feb. 20 from 9:30 to 5 p.m. 

Sunday, Feb. 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sea Lion Shows at the Saint Louis Zoo

See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.

This free workshop for parent and child includes a potty-themed storytime, and parents & caregivers will receive information to get them started on the potty training process. Attendees will also receive a potty seat, step stool, training pants and a potty-themed board book.
