Storytelling with Bobby Norfolk

It's a free summertime storytime complete with ice cream and St. Louis favorite, award-winner Bobby Norfolk.

Storytelling legend Bobby Norfolk will be on hand with family friendly stories on Cherokee on Saturday, May 28. There will be a limited amount of free pizza from Master Pieza and ice cream from I Scream Cakes! 

This is a free event that will be held outdoors at Cherokee and Texas Streets. In case of rain, the event will be moved indoors to I Scream Cakes at 2641 Cherokee.

The new Healthworks Kids' Museum will open to the public for the first time on May 14 as the first museum solely dedicated to health education in St. Louis, featuring lots of interactive exhibits for kids to explore.

Miriam Academy, which will begin with an inaugural 9th grade class in the fall of 2016, will educate high school students with learning challenges in an environment designed to help them excel.

Community Open Play Day at the J's New Accessible Playground

You're welcome to explore the new, 8,000 square-foot early childhood playground designed for children of all abilities at this free open play day and open house.

The playground includes play structures for preschoolers and toddlers, an infant-toddler area, a garden space with a watering area, a water feature for infants and toddlers and a drinking fountain. Little ones can also explore nature, music, art, sensory and dramatic play components. All area are designed so that children with disabilities can participate right along with typically developing children.

The Kids Games

Game on! Your pint-sized athlete can go for the gold at The Kids Games, an Olympic-themed event at The Magic House. 

Kids compete in Olympic-style track and field events at The Kids Games. All competitors will get to decorate their very oen bib number and will receive a commemorative t-shirt. 

In honor of their victory, all athletes will be presented with a medal. Registration is required for this event!

Sea Lion Shows at the Saint Louis Zoo

See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
