
Have a fun day at the Great Pumpkin Festival, a county-fair-meets-pig-roast-meets-trip-to-the-pumpkin-patch event to kick off the fall season. The Great Pumpkin Festival include live music, local vendors, great food and lots of kids' activities in the Pumpkin Patch Kids Corner.
Preschool age children will enjoy story time, crafts, games and activities based on fun themes that promote socialization and sharing. Dress to get messy for this morning of outdoor Halloween fun.
A snack will be provided, and a parent must stay with the child for the entire event. Cost per child is $6 and registration is required.

Lace up your running and walking shoes and chase down a costume because this fun event has something for all ages. The 5K and 10K runs are out-and-back courses, and there is a half mile Children's Fun Run for ages 10 and under.
Costumes are encouraged for all ages.
Get spooky at the Confluence Tower where there will be treats for all kids.
Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate in the annual GO! St. Louis Halloween 10K, Half Marathon and 1-Mile Fun Run. Dress up and compete in the costume contest for prizes and pumpkin pies. The event also features a 1-Mile Fun Run popular with families.
Enjoy special evening hours at The Butterfly House during October for the Owls and Orchids Animal Encounters events. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings, guests can get an up-close view of the beautiful Owl Butterflies, which are most active at dusk and dawn.
Evening hours are 4:30 to 7 p.m. with separate admission from daytime hours. Admission is $6 per person general admission; $3 per person for members of the Missouri Botanical Garden.

Visit the James S. McDonnell Planetarium in Forest Park and see a star show to experience the largest artificial sky in the Western Hemisphere. Star shows are lead LIVE by one of the Planetarium's educators, creating a new and tailored experience for every audience.
See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
