Slide the City is headed to St. Louis and O'Fallon in July

For lots of local families, the hot summer months are all about exploring the many pools, waterparks and splash pads the St. Louis area has to offer.

Ice Cream Social

Kids love ice cream, and at this event, it's free! Bring your kids to Indian Hills Swim Club for the free ice cream social with ice cream provided by Mr. Wizards. For kids age 12 and under. Stick around and check out the pools!

National Trails Day Celebration at the World Bird Sanctuary

Enjoy the outdoors at this family-friendly event, with three different length trails to suit your pace. Naturalists with live animals will be at interpretation stations along the trails. There will also be free children’s activities with prizes, and snacks will be on sale.

Feast in the Park at Laumeier Sculpture Park

Food trucks are as hot as ever in St. Louis, and now you can enjoy a food truck event at the beautiful Laumeier Sculpture Park!

Storybook Safari at the Saint Louis Zoo

In celebration of "Drop Eveything and Read" month the Saint Louis Zoo invites children to an interactive Storybook Safari at the Children's Zoo. Kids can listen as a zookeeper reads an animal-themed book and then presents a live animal from the story.

Children are also encouraged to bring their favorite book and read aloud to the animals, including pygmy goats, alpacas, meerkats, fennec foxes, rabbits, guinea pigs and more.

Busy as a Beaver

Beavers are always busy, it seems. They are very industrious and seem to never stop cutting down trees and building all kinds of neat stuff. Beavers are by far the largest rodents in North America, and a main reason that St. Louis was established here 250 years ago.

Kids ages 6-12 can learn more about the beaver, conservation efforts for them and why they are thriving in Missouri.

Child development researchers at Washington University School of Medicine are inviting 4-7-year-old children and a caregiver to participate in a study investigating what children know about suicide along with risk factors for experiencing suicidality early in life. We are seeking children who have and who have not experienced suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Children who participate will 1) answer brief questions about their understanding of suicide (we want to learn what children at different ages know, we do not teach them anything new), 2) play games, and 3) complete a safe and non-invasive EEG. Caregivers will complete interviews and surveys. Families can earn up to $110 for participating. LEARN MORE AND SIGN UP HERE
