Celebrate the birthday of Henry Shaw, founder of the Missouri Botanical Garden. Visitors can have their silhouette portrait drawn by an artist, watch jugglers perform, see marionette shows, watch a balloon artist, witness the agility of a stilt walker and sign an oversized birthday card. There will be free admission to the Garden and the Children's Garden, and discounts for Garden memberships.
There will be free admission for all visitors from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. as well as free admission to the Children's Garden from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Marionette shows take place at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Visitors can also explore Shaw's Tower Grove House and take an exclusive look inside the historic Museum Building. You may even spot "Henry Shaw" himself strolling through the gardens in his familiar black top hat, along with other actors dressed in vintage Victorian costumes.
