Elementary Age

Play outside at The Magic House! Celebrate National Get Outdoors Day with some good old-fashioned outdoor recreation. Fresh-air fun will fill the museum's front and back yards, promoting health through movement and play.

Life can be so hectic! Slow down with your family and discover the wonders at Shaw Nature Reserve. 

Shaw Nature Reserve is teaming up with the Missouri Department of Conservation to provide a special fishing experience for first-time or inexperienced young anglers.

Equipment, bait and assistance will be provided. At least one adult should attend for every two children, and fishing is for kids only.

For ages 6 to 12. Cost is $14 per child; $12 per child for members of the Missouri Botanical Garden. Registration is required.

There are few things little ones love more than getting creative and messy! At this free painting workshop, kids can take part in an entertaining and messy painting session.

Kids will be introduced to basic hip-hop dance styles while listening to their favorite Kidz Bop artists at this free workshop.

Kids will replicate a famous study using live cockroaches and play dough at this free workshop presented by The Butterfly House.

Kids ages 7-12 will replicate a famous study by zoologist Charles Henry Turner. Working in teams, kids will build a maze out of play dough and run live cockroaches through it.
