Elementary Age

You won't want to miss this unique opportunity for your kids to take part in free classes at the Saint Louis Science Center's Makerspace.

In April's program, students will work in design teams to develop a new handheld musical instrument. Students will be challenged to design every aspect of their musical instrument, from its shape to the sounds it will make. The design teams will use MIT's Scratch programming language to program their musical instrument, from its shape to the sounds it will make. 

Play outside at The Magic House! Celebrate National Get Outdoors Day with some good old-fashioned outdoor recreation. Fresh-air fun will fill the museum's front and back yards, promoting health through movement and play.

Life can be so hectic! Slow down with your family and discover the wonders at Shaw Nature Reserve. 

Shaw Nature Reserve is teaming up with the Missouri Department of Conservation to provide a special fishing experience for first-time or inexperienced young anglers.

Equipment, bait and assistance will be provided. At least one adult should attend for every two children, and fishing is for kids only.

For ages 6 to 12. Cost is $14 per child; $12 per child for members of the Missouri Botanical Garden. Registration is required.

There are few things little ones love more than getting creative and messy! At this free painting workshop, kids can take part in an entertaining and messy painting session.

Kids will be introduced to basic hip-hop dance styles while listening to their favorite Kidz Bop artists at this free workshop.
