Elementary Age

There are few things little ones love more than getting creative and messy! At this free painting workshop, kids can take part in an entertaining and messy painting session.

Part of the StArt@Your Library series at the St. Louis County Library. For ages 3-6.

Messy Painting will be held:

June 17 at 10 a.m. at the Jamestown Bluffs Branch

June 20 at 10 a.m. at the Eureka Hills Branch

June 20 at 10 a.m. at the Lewis & Clark Branch

Kids will be introduced to basic hip-hop dance styles while listening to their favorite Kidz Bop artists at this free workshop.

Kids will use their hands and brain to engineer their very own arch made out of everyday materials at this free workshop.

Kids will replicate a famous study using live cockroaches and play dough at this free workshop presented by The Butterfly House.

Kids ages 7-12 will replicate a famous study by zoologist Charles Henry Turner. Working in teams, kids will build a maze out of play dough and run live cockroaches through it.

A-MAZE-ing Cockroaches will be held June 28 at 10 a.m. at the Daniel Boone Branch.

Kids can race a balloon rocket and design their own car engine as they learn about space travel.

They'll see the principle of propulsion at work in a real rocket launch, and build their very own Shuttle Copter to fly to the skies!

June 21 at 3 p.m. at the Grand Glaize Branch

See an awe-inspiring glimpse of Earth from space and explore humanity's relationship with nature in A Beautiful Planet, opening May 13 in the Saint Louis Science Center's OMNIMAX Theater. 

A Beautiful Planet provides a unique perspective and increased understanding of our planet and galaxy as never seen before. The film explores mankind's relationship with Earth and the connection we all have with the place we call home. 

Kids can get behind the wheel as ceramicists from Krueger Pottery demonstrate the art of working with clay. Kids will coil, pinch and throw their own earthenware creations. Part of the Visiting Artist Series.

Saturday, May 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
