High Schoolers

Are you curious about the physics of aerial arts and dance? How jugglers hone their craft? The mechanics of magic? Learn all this and more through presentations by professional scientists and performing artists. There will be opportunities for audience participation throughout.

 Hands-on activities begin at 3 p.m. and the program begins at 3:15 p.m.

Alien Worlds and Androids brings the work of scientists to life in an exhibition that presents the possibility of life existing beyond Earth through the use of robots, telescopes, space probes and high-tech laboratories.

To guide kids and parents alike through the causes and effects of sports injuries as well as their prevention, Washington University and the St.

Teens have the opportunity to discuss reading and writing with the author of 20 nationally best-selling mystery novels at this free event at the St. Louis County Library Headquarters.

Explore the wonderful insects that fly at night at The Butterfly House during this special event to celebrate National Moth Week. Entomologists will set up black lights, which will attract night-flying insects from miles away. This one-of-a-kind experience will give you a chance to closely observe rarely seen nocturnal insects that come to the light. Sightings may include large moths, beetles, crickets and other fascinating insects. 

What makes an animal a reptile? Find out, and touch live reptiles in this fun program. Families, scout and camp groups are welcome to attend this fun, free auditorium event. For ages 6 and up.

Enjoy Shaw Nature Reserve at night with your family. On this guided hike, you'll use your five senses to observe the surroundings and uncover the secrets of the darkness.

Activities will focus on the brain's ability to be fooled by the night and ways to improve night vision.
