Garden Buds Summer Saturdays: Search for Secrets

Discover the amazing world of plants with your preschooler during the Garden Buds Summer Saturdays series at the Missouri Botanical Garden. These fun, hands-on classes are for children ages 4 to 6 with a parent. 

During this class, kids will discover why birds find the Garden such a wonderful place to live, then make a bird feeder to take home and help attract birds to their own yard.

Music of China

Visitors to The Magic House can enjoy performances from the St. Louis Modern Chinese School showcasing a variety of Chinese instruments.

There will be Waist Drum performances at 10 a.m. and noonm and singing performances at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

This free event, for ages 2 to 6 celebrates a newly published curriculum "Let's Learn About St. Louis" by The Wilson School's pre-kindergarten teacher Linda Noel. It also features local author June Herman and her book Goodnight St. Louis. Both books will be available for purchase.

Fireflies: Summer Night Lights

Remember the delightful, warm summer nights you spent as a child capturing fireflies? Experience those night again with your own kids as you all learn more about this fascinating beetle. 

During Fireflies: Summer Night Lights, you'll also take a hike into a magical firest filled with twinkling lights.

For ages 7 and up with parents or caregivers.

Through story and song, the play shines a light on their dreams, their times with family and friends, and the trials and tribulations they faced as children living in a divided and segregationist city. A full chorus sets the tone with spirituals and anthems of the Civil Rights Movement such as "Amazing Grace," "Oh, Freedom," and "Woke Up This Morning." This production is a collaboration between The Black Rep and COCA.
