The Butterfly House

Celebrate Father's Day at the Dads, Dogs, and Donuts event at the Butterfly House. Your family will enjoy delicious donuts and participate in fun activities featuring Martha Blah Blah, the talking dog! Registration is required.

At the Firefly Festival, families will join staff for guided tours, discover the secrets of glow-in-the-dark animals, find out ways to help fireflies around your home, and learn to speak firefly with the firefly code game. You'll wrap up the night by joining The Butterfly House entomologists in the park to see real fireflies.  

Release a butterfly into the conservatory, visit the butterflies in the calm early morning, and enjoy a breakfast snack with the butterflies during Rise and Shine with the Butterflies at The Butterfly House. 

Fabulous frogs fill the summer nights with song, and The Butterfly House is throwing a festival in their honor. Visitors to the Frog Festival can play games that celebrate the amazing things frogs can do and how we can protect them in our neighborhoods. There will be frog walks, face painting, live animal encounters and "meet & greets" with Finn the Frog. Kids will even get to take home a frog calling kit so they can join the chorus in their own back yards. 

Kids can learn about their friendly, neighborhood spiders and their amazing senses. Then they'll paint spider webs using their own sense of touch, just like spiders. Spidey Senses is a free workshops for kids ages 6 to 11 presented by The Butterfly House. Registration is required.

Kids can shake off the cold weather with a tropical-themed celebration at The Butterfly House. Activities include tropical-themed games and crafts, marsh-friendly bugs, swamp-themed activities, music and live animal encounters.

The birthday celebration, which is included with admission to The Butterfly House, will be filled with a Story Walk, live caterpillar encounters, crafts, and meet & greets with the Very Hungry Caterpillar himself.
