The city of O’Fallon, Mo., throws a fantastic, family-friendly celebration at the Ozzie Smith Sports Complex over the 4th of July holiday.
Carnival rides, live entertainment by popular country artists and rock bands, a parade, and dazzling displays of fireworks are all part of the 4th of fun at the Heritage and Freedom Fest 2 Take advantage of free Kids’ Zone activities on 3 and 4, or enjoy unlimited carnival rides with the purchase of an all-you-can-ride wristband on 2 ($20 in advance; $25 on July 2). The Kids' Zone includes giant inflatables, games, face painting and more. It's open July 3 from 4 to 9:45 p.m. and July 4 from noon to 9 p.m.
Looking for fireworks? The show takes off at 10:15 p.m. on July 3 and 9:30 p.m. on July 4.
The Heritage and Freedom Fest is happening July 2 from 4 to 10 p.m., July 3 from 4 to 11 p.m. and July 4 from noon to 10 p.m.

See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
Through story and song, the play shines a light on their dreams, their times with family and friends, and the trials and tribulations they faced as children living in a divided and segregationist city. A full chorus sets the tone with spirituals and anthems of the Civil Rights Movement such as "Amazing Grace," "Oh, Freedom," and "Woke Up This Morning." This production is a collaboration between The Black Rep and COCA.
It's the Not-So-Haunted House that is oh-so-fun! Kids of all ages are invited to dress in their most "boo-tiful" Halloween costumes and have a ghoulishly good time trick-or-treating at The Magic House and getting autographs from their favorite storybook characters.
