There's no business like shoe business! Come see a live performance by the Imaginary Theater Company about a kindly cobbler whose good deed is rewarded with the help of magical elves. Based on the tale by the Brothers Grimm, this heartwarming holiday story is a reminder that with kindness and hope, anything is possible.

Jolly Old Saint Nicholas is a revered Christmas figure all over the world, and on Dec. 6 he'll make a stop in St. Charles for the Saint Nicholas Day Celebration and parade. 

The festivities begin at 4 p.m. in the Colonnade at the 200 block of north Main Street where children are encouraged to join Saint Nick in the Saint Nicholas Day Parade. From there, the parade heads to Berthold Square where there will be special treats and goodies for kids. There will also be a shoe drive for Shoeman Water Projects, to benefit those in need.

Experience the beauty of a holiday at Faust Historic Village. The customs of the 1800s will surround guests on this self-guided tour through the festively decorated homes.

Grant's Trail in the Gravois Greenway will be illuminated for the third annual Crestwood Nite of Lights: Give and Glow Celebration. Bring your friends and family to see the greenway lit by luminaries between Big Bend and Watson Road.

The celebration also includes bonfires, tours of the historic Sappington House, complimentary hot chocolate, spiced cider, cookies and live music.

Early childhood teachers are invited to bring their students to the Missouri Botanical Garden for an unforgettable visit to the Gardenland Express. This year the annual holiday train show celebrates conifers of the world.

Children will enjoy the train show, complete a craft and learn how conifers help animals survive the winter. All classes receive a take-home Winter Kit to use in their classroom and schoolyard.
