Mad Science Under Pressure Workshop for Kids

Kids will learn the science behind air pressure as they create a whirlwind with an Airzooka vortex generator and make pucks and balls levitate. They'll also launch foam rockets with the Air Blaster Kit. This free workshop is for ages 5-11 and is presented by Mad Science of St. Louis. Registration is required. 

Under Pressure will be held at the following branches of the St. Louis County Library:

October 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the Weber Road Branch

October 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Samuel C. Sachs Branch

October 19 at 2 p.m. at the Jamestown Bluffs Branch

November 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Grand Glaize Branch

November 12 at 4:30 p.m. at the Eureka Hills Branch

December 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Florissant Valley Branch

December 21 at 2 p.m. at the Bridgeton Trails Branch

December 30 at 10 a.m. at the Cliff Cave Branch

Sea Lion Shows at the Saint Louis Zoo

See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
