Dear Big-Time Hollywood Producers,

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but thank you. Thank you for understanding that parents must sit through children’s movies. Thank you for realizing that although they may walk into walls and eat Play-Doh once in awhile, our kids are pretty smart and can laugh at things besides bodily functions. Thank you for creating films we can enjoy together as a family and don’t make me want to beat myself silly with the remote control.

Are your kids crazy about soccer? Keep them inspired at a women’s professional soccer game with the St. Louis Athletica. The season kicks off April 11 with a game against the FC Gold Pride at the St. Louis Soccer Park in Fenton.

A couple of months ago I celebrated that my days of surfing the Web for “potty training” expertise were over. And yet there I was yesterday, back online, googling “bed wetting” info. Ralph Covert, the indie rocker, songwriter, playwright and children’s book author behind the insanely popular Ralph’s World shows and albums, will make a special, intimate St. Louis appearance at Off Broadway Nightclub on Sunday, April 11, as part of 88.1 KDHX’s Musical Merry-Go-Round concert series.

A Missouri Adventure: The Doris L. Schnuck Children’s Garden at the Missouri Botanical Garden kicks off its fifth season with a number of opening-week festivities April 1 through 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The spring festivities, presented by Macy’s, include live music, storytelling, face painting, crafts and educational activities in the Nature Explore Classroom. Kids will have the opportunity to learn about plants we eat and the power of pollination, and they can make a seed packet to take home.
