This workshop will provide teachers, educational staff and parents with an overview of underlying neurological considerations of students dealing with sensory processing disorder.
Instrumental to our ability to function in a purposeful and coordinated manner is the ability to process our sensory experiences and use the information for meaningful output. Sensory processing is essential for children to successfully modulate their emotions, behavior, learn and fully participat in classroom activities. This workshop will cover practical strategies and techniques to assist students with developing and strengthening their self-awareness, self-management and self-reflection skills for maximal self-regulation. The workshop is led by Jeanne Kloeckner, OTD, OTR/L of Mindful Solutions of St. Louis.
6:30 to 8 p.m. at Miriam School in Webster Groves.
The workshop is free, but registration is required. Certificates of attendance are available for educators and professionals.
