An introduction to the bow and arrow is just the beginning in the day-long archery program for kids in Forest Park. They'll start the morning off discovering how mammal indentification and tracking are essential to archers. Then, they'll learn how archery teaches discipline, concentration and resilience.
Once they become familiar with the bow and arrow, participants will learn to shoot the arrow in an archery skills challenge. This program meets at the Forest Park Hatchery and Educational Fishing Lakes. Participants should bring a sack lunch, water bottle and dress to be outdoors for the day.
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Forest Park. More information and reservations: mdc.mo.gov
