Metro Theater Company presents a special virtual event for families featuring local and nationally known celebrities, athletes, first responders, media personalities, artists and civic leaders. A Christmas Carol: A St. Louis Virtual Holiday Reading brings the beloved holiday story of redemption, transformation, and goodwill to life. The abridged script was adapted by Metro Theater Company's Artistic Director Julie Flood.

More than 25 St. Louisans serve as readers for the broadcast, each contributing excepts on camera, stitched together to create the final broadcast. The lineup includes Emmy-nominated television star Ellie Kemper, award-winning actors/producers Sterling K. Brown and Ryan Michelle Bahe, St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, American Ninja Warrior Jamie Rahn (aka Captain NBC), two-time Tony Award-winning actress Judith Ivey, St. Louis Cardinals president of baseball operations Jobn Mozeliak, Grammy Award-winning soporano Christine Brewer, film, stage and voice actor Ken Page, nationally syndicated columnist and St. Louis Post-Dispatch editor Aisha Sultan, president of the St. Louis Black Authors of Children's Literature Julius B. Anthony, and medical director for the St. Louis Fire Department Mark Levine. 

Tickets are free, but donations are appreciated. All funds raised through this event will support Metro Theater Company's programs during COVID-19 to connect young people to the power and impact of theater, through live performances, virtual programs, and arts-integrated classroom experiences. 

The 60-minute performance will stream on December 10 at 6:30 p.m. and December 13 at 2:30 p.m.

Registration is required. After registering you'll receive a link to view the performance. The reading is appropriate for ages 6 and up.
