Time Out has become a popular discipline technique among today’s parents. At first glance, the practice of temporarily isolating a child who misbehaves by sending him to a corner or a “naughty chair” seems like an effective remedy for bad behavior, as well as a positive alternative to yelling or spanking. Now some parenting experts believe that children who are struggling to behave need exactly the opposite of Time Out. They need Time In.

Family Fun and Fitness Day

Bring your whole family to the Family Fun and Fitness Day where you'll find activities for all ages and lots of fun for kids.

All ages can get active with a bounce house, fitness and dance groups, martial arts demonstrations and self-defense demonstrations. There will also be face painting, door prizes, food and drinks, birthday party ideas, raffles and a smoothie truck!

All are welcome. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. John Lutheran School in Arnold.

Third Fridays at Third Degree Glass Factory are always family friendly, but in April, it's all about kids! It will be a party not to miss with make-your-own art projects, Pi pizza and a sing-along dance party.

Kids can hang out with the creative crew from Artscope St. Louis and create their own unique drawings. The hot glass and flameworking demo artists will help transform kids' creations into works of 3D glass art! The Missouri History Museum celebrates education and family learning with History Exploration Days! One Friday per month from September to May (excluding November), homeschool families with kids of all ages can explore a different historical topic—together! All activities are FREE. Explore St. Louis history in new and exciting ways through interactive guided gallery tours, hands-on workshops, and community performances that align with each month’s theme, encouraging investigation, exploration, and creative fun. Activities are offered at various times throughout the day and are customized for specific grade level groups. Storytelling takes place in the morning, and all ages are welcome. Visit the craft room for fun learning experiences, with museum educators available to help learners participate in meaningful ways. Topics this school year include Growing Up in St. Louis, Holiday Toys, Black History, and Route 66. Detailed schedules of each day will be posted to the Museum’s website. Since 1969, New City School has recognized that a foundation for lifelong learning begins in early childhood.
