Kids will replicate a famous study using live cockroaches and play dough at this free workshop presented by The Butterfly House.

Kids ages 7-12 will replicate a famous study by zoologist Charles Henry Turner. Working in teams, kids will build a maze out of play dough and run live cockroaches through it. 

Part of the StArt@Your Library series at the St. Louis County Library. 

A-MAZE-ing Cockroaches will be held June 28 at 10 a.m. at the Daniel Boone Branch.

Kids can race a balloon rocket and design their own car engine as they learn about space travel.

They'll see the principle of propulsion at work in a real rocket launch, and build their very own Shuttle Copter to fly to the skies!

June 21 at 3 p.m. at the Grand Glaize Branch

Preschoolers (ages 3-5) can experiment with floating, sinking, absorption and lots more in this free workshop that's all about water.

Water Works will be held on June 22 at 2:30 p.m. at the Rock Road Branch

Kids can get behind the wheel as ceramicists from Krueger Pottery demonstrate the art of working with clay. Kids will coil, pinch and throw their own earthenware creations. Part of the Visiting Artist Series.

Saturday, May 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Free with regular admission.

Enjoy a fun play time at the Carousel in Faust Park. Kids ages 5 and under, along with a parent or caregiver, can enjoy the play room and rides on the carousel between 10 a.m. and noon. Play & Ride dates are subject to change, so please check the full listing before you plan to go.

Visit the West County Safety House during the Safe Kids Day Festival for free bike fittings (and helmets while supplies last) and let your kids take ride to Safety Town. 

The festival also includes free food, games and prizes, and a raffle of dinner with the West County EMS and Fire crew.

The Metro West firefighters are hosting Movie Night at the Firehouse featuring Disney's Planes: Fire & Rescue. Children are welcome to view the fire truck and ambulance before the show.
