Kids who love to fish or just want to try it out are invited to participate in the Chesterfield Fishing Derby at Central Park Lake. Registration is required and the derby is limited to the first 100 kids who register.
The Folklife Festival at Thornhill celebrates the bicentennial of Thornhill and focuses on the crafts and events of the years leading up to Missouri statehood. Enjoy the sites and sounds of the era with demonstrations of daily life, and the opportunity to learn about the people who shaped early Missouri history.
Fabulous frogs fill the summer nights with song, and The Butterfly House is throwing a festival in their honor. Visitors to the Frog Festival can play games that celebrate the amazing things frogs can do and how we can protect them in our neighborhoods. There will be frog walks, face painting, live animal encounters and "meet & greets" with Finn the Frog. Kids will even get to take home a frog calling kit so they can join the chorus in their own back yards.
