
COCA presents the musical adaptation of The Color Purple, Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Also a popular Steven Spielberg film, The Color Purple features Celie, a downtrodden young woman whose personal awakening over the course of 40 years forms the arc of this epic story.

The Color Purple, COCA's summer musical, features a Grammy-winning score infused with jazz, ragtime, gospel, and African blues. It's a moving testament to the power of love, faith, resilience and sisterhood. Ideal for ages 13 and up.
The Color Purple will be on stage at COCA July 19-21 with audio description available at the Saturday afternoon performance and ASL interpretation provided during the Saturday evening performance.
