Endangered Species Day at the Saint Louis Zoo

Learn how the Saint Louis Zoo is working to save hundreds of species, both here and around the world at Endangered Species Day on May 16. Special events and activities on this day include: 

  • Learn from Zoo experts who will talk about different endangered species, what their respective threats are and how you can help 
  • Children’s activities that highlight specific Zoo animals that are endangered 
  • Scheduled keeper chats, where you can meet members of our Animal Care team 
  • Sustainable merchandise in the gift shops that benefit animals’ natural habitats and communities that coexist with endangered species 
  • Food specials available at Lakeside Cafe and Cafe Kudu: Globe-shaped cookies and vegetarian fried rice and spring rolls 
  • The Sumatran Tiger Misto drink is available at Starbucks all day 
  • Bring an item from our wish list contributing to the animals' enrichment activities. Gift drop-offs are available at both Zoo entrances during the event. Find the wish list at stlzoo.org/endangeredspeciesday.

Endangered Species Day activities are happening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Garden Glow at the Missouri Botanical Garden

More than a million lights will illuminate some of the Missouri Botanical Garden's most iconic locations, walkways will be transformed into sensory light tunnels providing an explosion of visual magic, and traditional candlelight village displays, festive drinks, s'mores and great photo opportunities will delight crowds of all ages.

Brewery Lights at Anheuser-Busch Brewery
