Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center

Bring your little one to Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center for a walk through the woods to enjoy the sights and sounds. What will you hear on this outdoor hike?

You'll have an opportunity to “meet and greet” the birds and their hunting partners, and see some of the equipment used in the sport of falconry. Reservations are required.

Remember the old days of mud pits and mud pies? Here is the chance to relive some of the joys of your childhood with your children. Powder Valley will provide the dirt, you bring the clean clothes for the ride home.

Kids ages 6 and up can learn about lizards, such as: What do they eat? Do lizards really lose their tails? They'll also take part in fun lizard activities and crafts.

It's amazing that one tiny acorn can grow into an enomous oak tree. Little ones, ages 3 to 6, will investigate the life of an oak tree and its importance in the forest then go on a hike to search for oak trees and acorns.

Celebrate the Monarch butterfly with games and crafts, and learn how to attract them.

Egg. Larva. Pupa. Butterfly. That's magic! The Fishin' Magicians make learning this basic science fun for all ages using magic, puppets and humor.

Join the adventure with them and Pipevine, the caterpillar, as they help kids understand the importance of butterflies and caterpillars in ecosystems.
