See an awe-inspiring glimpse of Earth from space and explore humanity's relationship with nature in A Beautiful Planet, opening May 13 in the Saint Louis Science Center's OMNIMAX Theater. 

A Beautiful Planet provides a unique perspective and increased understanding of our planet and galaxy as never seen before. The film explores mankind's relationship with Earth and the connection we all have with the place we call home. 

Kids can get behind the wheel as ceramicists from Krueger Pottery demonstrate the art of working with clay. Kids will coil, pinch and throw their own earthenware creations. Part of the Visiting Artist Series.

Saturday, May 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Free with regular admission.

Join in on the celebration of Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space.

At the special events at the Saint Louis Science Center, there will be telescope viewing and special star shows, including Metal Moons at 6 p.m. and a human space flight program-themed Live Sky Tonight show at 7 p.m. The Liftoff Gallery will be open with educators on hand to answer questions.

This special storytime will feature storyteller Maria Yaksic, a native of La Paz, Bolivia, who has been working with children for more than 20 years. She is currently a parent educator and kindergarten teacher. 

Bring your whole family to the  Foundry Art Centre's Family Fun Day on May 22 for an afternoon of fun and creativity.

Summer-themed art activities will be available designed for kids to make alongside their parents. Throughout the afternoon, you'll enjoy stories read aloud by Main Street Books owner Emily Hall. There will also be complimentary lemonade and cookies.

Come to the Old Courthouse for Junior Ranger Day and Night Explorer Workshop conducted by a sky ranger with the National Park Service. Kids can earn a special, limited-edition Junior Ranger badge commemorating the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service by completing a craft project relating to American pioneers, Plains Indians, Colonial St. Louis or Lewis & Clark. This special badge workshop will be held between at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

A special Junior Ranger Night Explorer Workshop, where kids can earn a Night Explorer Badge, will be held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Enjoy a fun play time at the Carousel in Faust Park. Kids ages 5 and under, along with a parent or caregiver, can enjoy the play room and rides on the carousel between 10 a.m. and noon. Play & Ride dates are subject to change, so please check the full listing before you plan to go.
